Requirements for appointments

i) A cumulative number of eighteen (18) years relevant experience from the date of admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya OR served for three (3) years at the level of Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions DPP 3;

ii) Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university;

iii) Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Council of Legal Education;

iv) Admission as an Advocate of High Court of Kenya;

v) Demonstrated managerial, administrative and professional competence in work performance;

vi) Exhibited a thorough understanding of national goals, policies, objectives and ability to relate them to proper management of Legal affairs;

vii) Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;

viii) Be a member of a recognized professional body; and

ix) Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010; Integrity, Leadership, Honesty, Accountability and Discipline in the service to people.

NOTE: Possession of a Master’s degree in law or any other social science from a recognized institution and a Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
