Requirements for appointments

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

(i) A cumulative number of Fifteen (15) years relevant experience from the date of admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;

(ii) Served for three (3) years at the level of Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions DPP4/JG’Q’;

(iii) Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university;

(iv) Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Council of Legal Education;

(v) Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;

(vi) Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;

(vii) Be a member of a recognized professional body; and (viii) Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010; Integrity, Leadership, Honesty, Accountability and Discipline in the service to people.

NOTE: Possession of a Masters degree in law or any other social science from a recognized institution and a Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
