for recruiting farmers and coordinating plantings, crop protection, crop

All recruited farmers must be vetted and a risk assessment carried out before
they are engaged by issuing them with a signed growing contract.

budgeting and planning, permanent record keeping, coordination of harvestings,
and advising the management of daily harvestings.

2)    
Crop
rotation planning and hybrid/variety selection recommendations.

3)    
Visiting
fields to collect seed, plant, and soil samples and testing samples for
nutritional deficiencies, diseases, or other changes.

4)    
Prepare
and present detailed field reports to the lead supervisor and management.

5)    
Researching,
developing, and promoting farming practices or products that diminish the
effects of changes in soil, climate, and weather or prevent damage from pests.

6)    
Insect,
weed, and disease monitoring / diagnostics.

7)    

Diploma/Degree
in Agriculture/Horticulture or an equivalent combination of education.

  Experience in growing French Beans-Sugar
Snaps-Snow peas, Sugar snap and Baby corn is    a must

    Experience in attaining farm certifications
(i.e. GAP).

    Experience in farmers recruitment.

    Must have a driving license with motorbike
approval

    Have at least 3 years and above of field
experience in Agriculture/Horticulture.

    Ability to learn quickly

    Sound knowledge of fertilizer and chemical
products with fertilization recommendations.

    Excellent communication skills (verbal and
written)

    Demonstrate PR and interpersonal, and
leadership skills, supervisory skills, and strategic planning

Carry out pests and diseases management

a)
Implement and monitor appropriate IPM methods (such as crop rotation, use of
sticky traps, farm hygiene etc.)

b)
Ensure that farmers observe total farm hygiene.

c)
Consider the resistance to diseases and pests for various varieties of seeds
and make recommendation of the appropriate variety to plant in the region.

d)
Do timely scouting for pests and diseases and make the appropriate
recommendation to the farmer.

e)
Ensure that farmers use only the approved pesticides. In this ensure that all
farmers have a valid copy of the list of approved pesticides.

f)
Supervise the process of pesticide mixing and application.

g)
Ensuring farmers observe pre-harvest intervals.

Advise farmers on fertilizer use.

8.
To ensure that out grower farmers’ operations in the area adhere to company
policies, procedures and other relevant marketing standards (i.e., Farm
preparation for internal and external audits)

10)  Proactively promote and inform sales
team on current and potential upcoming agronomic issues that affect growing
crops.

11)  Keep up to date with agronomic practices
by attend company sponsored workshops and seminars to gain and maintain
agronomic knowledge.
