QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum level of academic qualification, skills and knowledge required to perform effectively in the role:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Knowledge on relevant ERP will be an added advantage
  • Minimum level of professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role: A professional Accounting qualification
  • CPA-K /ACCA/ACA/CFA and a member in good standing with ICPAK or relevant professional body.
  • Minimum months or years of experience required to have to be appointed to the position:
  • A minimum of 8 years working experience, 5 years of which must be in a management position.

  • Efficiency and effectiveness in Sacco Operations-Credit, Membership

JOB REF: YSL/HOO/2024ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLEADERSHIP AND POLICY MANAGEMENT:

  • Overall, in charge of the Operations unit/department.
  • Assist the CEO in the development and implementation of operations strategies for the SACCO.
  • Effective and efficient implementation of the operations policy, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Provide technical advice and support to the Management on all Sacco operations matters.

FINANCIAL PLANNING, CREDIT MANAGEMENT, BUDGETING, AND REPORTING:

  • Preparation and presentation of accurate and timely monthly reports and records including membership information and operations initiatives, staff and office matters.
  • Periodic review and reporting on emerging operations issues/limitations.
  • Preparing annual Operations plan, departmental budget and ensuring their effective implementation.
  • Provide technical advice and support on all matters relating to operational management.
  • Preparation of periodic reports on membership information and marketing initiative/outcome.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND MEMBER (CUSTOMER) MANAGEMENT:

  • Enhance customer experience through effective customer relationship management.

HUMAN RESOURCES, ADMINISTRATION AND PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

  • Co-ordinate human resource planning, recruitment, development, management and discipline within the department.
  • Ensure staff retention and motivation through training and continuous development.
  • Carry out performance appraisal/management and training needs assessment on annual basis.
  • Ensure proper records management and safe custody
  • Ensure achievement of set performance targets and conducting performance appraisal in the department.

RISK MANAGEMENT AND COMPLIANCE:

  • Ensure strict compliance with legal, regulatory and institutional requirements.
  • Periodic review and reporting on emerging credit issues/limitations.
