Husk is seeking a Design Engineer to join the Engineering team in Nigeria.
This individual will play an integral role in providing support to the Engineering Design Team on ensuring the effective, efficient, and timely implementation of all engineering design inputs for HMGs, C+I and EPC installations.
We are looking for someone who has the willingness and enthusiasm to grow and learn the technicalities around electrical design, understands the need and use of technology (and its application) in the design of power installations.
Requirement:
Have basic knowledge of general electrical designs and interpretation of electrical drawings.
Bachelor degree in Electrical engineering
Familiarity with relevant software including AUTOCAD, HOMERPro, Odyssey, PVSyst, etc.
Designing Solar Systems:
- Develop comprehensive solar system designs from scratch.
- Create hybrid solar systems that integrate multiple energy sources.
Electrical Expertise:
- Produce detailed electrical drawings.
- Interpret complex electrical drawings accurately.
Electrical Expertise:
- Produce detailed electrical drawings.

- Conduct electrical calculations for system design.
C&I Design Projects:
- Experience in Commercial and Industrial (C&I) design projects.
- Expertise in C&I design project development and execution.
Play a key part as a member of the Engineering Team in systems sizing, design, and analysis.
Demonstrate ethics and professionalism.
Support the optimization of various Husk NG activities to ensure best practices are entrenched towards more efficient processes.
Assist in documenting and developing industry best practices, standards and guidelines.
Research, document and comply with local and national code requirements in project jurisdictions.
Engineering Design.
Design and develop solar power systems from scratch, including hybrid systems for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications.
Create detailed electrical drawings and schematics, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Interpret and analyze electrical drawings and diagrams to ensure proper system integration and functionality.
Create, review, and modify drawing sets and technical inputs in AutoCAD and other custom software tools.
Work closely within the larger Engineering Team to promptly deliver system designs.
Support Engineering and Installation Teams with surveys and feasibility assessments.
Complete electrical and structural designs for projects and other design submissions.
Business Support
Coordinate with site assessors, project managers and sales teams to complete designs’ meeting customers’ expectations within set deadlines.
Create bill of quantities (BOQ), bill of materials (BOM) as per design and support the specification of components for the procurement process.
Provide quality inputs and installation support where required during the construction phase.
Other duties may be assigned from time to time.
Location and Travel
● This role is based in Abuja, Nigeria
● Will be required to travel to rural areas and plant sites
