The MEAL Officer will majorly be responsible for directly monitoring the implementation of the VIBRANT project, vanilla farmers in groups, cooperatives and VSLAs within the project targeted areas. He/she will be primarily responsible for providing support to the project and will work with the Project Manager and project technical team to design and lead a strong MEAL system for the project. He/She is responsible for designing and implementing the MEAL activities of the Project; assisting the Project Manager in preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly, Bi-annual and annual reports on project progress and monitor the project activities on a regular basis, s/he is responsible for the outcome harvesting process, collection & analysis of different data in relation to the project activities.


Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative economics or BSc in Statistics.

• Experience in implementation of livelihood programs in is an added advantage.

• A good communicator with strong oral and written communications skills desired.

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in M&E system design and implementation from the recognized institution or organization

• Collect and update baseline data for project interventions

• Develop project monitoring and evaluation plans

• Develop data collection tools for the project

• Develop a database for the project interventions and beneficiaries

• Collect data on project activities and enter it in the database on weekly basis

• Conduct data quality checks for activity reports submitted by staff

• Monitor progress of activity implementation

• Analyse database and produce weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports

• Design and conduct surveys to inform programming

• Compile case/success stories documented by staff

• Participate in Institutional M&E activities

• Participate in institutional fundraising process

• Participate in institutional planning, review and reflections meetings

• Planning, Reporting and documentation

· Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly plans

· Produce timely and accurate activity, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports

· Produce articles for monthly newsletters and activity news briefs

· Document and produce most significant change stories

• Participate in issue-based research in areas related to the project and contribute to the institutional research agenda.

• Comply with KRC-Uganda policies for finance, procurement, transport and other policies.

• Any other roles that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
