The Legal Officer – Litigation will report to the Senior Legal Officer – Litigation and will be based at Head office. He/ she will be responsible for providing legal services to support business operations in accordance with Pride’s policies, procedures and the law.


Requirements

  • Bachelor of Law and Diploma in Legal Practice.
  • At least three years’ experience preferably in a Financial Institution or busy Law firm a valid practicing certificate.
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory provisions.
  • Should not be more than 30 years of age.

The Legal Officer – Litigation will report to the Senior Legal Officer – Litigation and will be based at Head office. He/ she will be responsible for providing legal services to support business operations in accordance with Pride’s policies, procedures and the law.

  • Provide legal services to Pride in a timely manner and ensure that business operations are within the established laws.
  • Handle litigation matters of Pride.
  • Ensure the release of the security to the clients upon completion of the loan.
  • Provide legal advice to the Management and staff of Pride.
  • Participate and attend various committees such as the credit committee for the approval of loans.
  • Attend and disciplinary hearings, contract negotiations evaluation committees as need may arise.
  • Draft agreements between Pride and service providers in order to protect Pride’s interest.
  • Review and advice on the contracts submitted by service providers.
  • Review the existing legal forms and documents to ensure that they are in line with the law and policy.
  • Conduct securities audit to ensure they are in custody and with mortgages registered.
  • Prepare a monthly compliance report to be submitted to the department head.
