As part of the Operations Department, the Area Manager is responsible for the management, training and development of several branches offering optical services in Uganda. He/She will be requested to travel across the territory to visit the different branches under his/her supervision.

The Area Manager will work under the supervision of the Operations Manager and interact with the different company departments. The Area Manager directly supervises and manages the Branch Managers and their teams of salespeople and Eye specialists. The Area Manager organizes, manages and develops the sales activity of the various branches in accordance with the company's sales policy and targets. They are responsible for increasing the profits of all the branches in their area.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration or any relevant field, with +4 years of professional experience in a business/retail setting.

  • Only candidates with previous experience in store, team and business management will be reviewed!

  • It is required from candidates to be proficient in accounting and analysis software (Excel etc.)

  • Customer service-oriented with in-depth knowledge of basic business management processes.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Know the Lapaire's products and services, as well as the needs and desires of clients

• Increase brand awareness and sensitize potential customers to the fact of seeing well and to vision problems.

Lead, train and inspire teams

• Manage and train the Branch Managers on an ongoing basis, sharing knowledge and experience in the commercial and managerial field;

• Motivate and support Branch Managers in their day-to-day management of the team and customer relationships to ensure that the sales teams meet and exceed their sales targets

• Share and explain objectives to Branch Managers, and ensuring continuous monitoring of the performance of each Branch ; ensure constant communication with Branch Managers to support them where necessary

Develop effective sales strategies and activities

• Implement the Lapaire sales strategy in each branch and ensure daily follow up

• Monitor the performance of the different branches by identifying problems and providing relevant and effective solutions in order to reach and exceed the objectives set by the sales management: turnover/sales, customer satisfaction, profitability, etc.

• Implement a specific sales action plan in coordination with the Marketing team in order to increase the brand's awareness and the agencies' turnover.

• Support in the development and opening of new branches under the Operations Manager supervision

Ensure proper respect of company policies and procedures at all levels

• Ensure that each branch is well maintained in terms of cleanliness, tidiness, ventilation etc. and that the staff wear correctly the Lapaire uniform in order to well represent the brand

• Ensure the proper accounting and financial management of the agencies by conducting regular audits

• Supervise the stocks and inventories of the different branches

• Handle certain complaints directly from customers, suppliers and delivery staff.
