Requirements
- Should have a Diploma in Laboratory Science or Practice.
- Should possess an experience of laboratory practice in a reputable University.
- Should have good supervisory, interpersonal relationship and training skills.

Responsibilities
To manage the Department laboratory for the teaching of students and support of scientific diagnosis, analyses and research.
Requirements
- Should have a Diploma in Laboratory Science or Practice.
- Should possess an experience of laboratory practice in a reputable University.
- Should have good supervisory, interpersonal relationship and training skills.
- Should have integrity and be dependable.
- Should have good report writing skills.
- Should be registered with a professional organization where required.
- Proposes budgets for acquisition of laboratory requirements including specifications for laboratory equipment, small apparatus, reagents and chemicals and laboratory consumables.
- Organizes, coordinates and assigns tasks to laboratory staff for scientific laboratory assignments as appropriate.
- Coordinates the instruction and supervision of students in the conduct of laboratory experiments including analysis and testing procedures for specimen or material as advised.
- Designs and enforces on approval the protocols for setting up of departmental laboratories, including equipment, tissue or specimen preparation and arrangement of appropriate chemicals and reagents, for the conduct of teaching and research activities.
- Coordinates the enforcement of standards for laboratory quality control and safety including the design of appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Initiates repairs on malfunctioning equipment or supervises and documents its preventative maintenance.
- Validates authenticity of laboratory supplies including calibration of equipment.
- Oversees the cleaning of laboratories and safe disposal of laboratory waste.
- Manages the inventory of laboratory chemicals, equipment and other related supplies.
- Oversees the supervision and continuous development of lower level laboratory staff.
- Liaises with the Procurement and Disposal Unit, regulatory agencies and suppliers to assure quality of laboratory supplies.
- Monitors, advises and reports on laboratory operations in the Department.
