About the Role
This health and Safety Officer will work closely with the Naivasha Treatment Plant site administration team, safety crew leaders and operational staff to ensure that improved Health and Safety processes, culture, data and compliance are implemented. The Health and Safety Officer will be accountable for Health and Safety across the company, taking responsibility on companywide Health and Safety improvements and supporting the responsible safety crew leaders for the implementation of Health and Safety at various sites and teams.

About the Role
This health and Safety Officer will work closely with the Naivasha Treatment Plant site administration team, safety crew leaders and operational staff to ensure that improved Health and Safety processes, culture, data and compliance are implemented. The Health and Safety Officer will be accountable for Health and Safety across the company, taking responsibility on companywide Health and Safety improvements and supporting the responsible safety crew leaders for the implementation of Health and Safety at various sites and teams.
Lead processes and initiatives
- Design and implement Health and Safety process and policy updates
Organize regular inspections and risk assessments to ensure hazards and defects are troubleshot and rectified immediately.
Ensure Health and Safety response to all company incidences
Lead the company Health and Safety administration committee
Ensure Health and Safety committee meetings are held regularly and stay relevant in supporting health and safety practices
Build Health and Safety culture
- Lead the implementation of Health and Safety training, audits, drills and processesto ensure compliance and understanding of Health and Safety processes and systems
Ensure Health and Safety capacity of all site teams and site leaders
Support positive Health and Safety culture issuing warnings and caution to teams
for enforce health and safety processesResponsible for identifying and recognizing Health and Safety champions
Health and Safety compliance
- Ensure companywide Health and Safety compliance including statutorycompliance requirements
Accountable for each site being Health and Safety compliant, ensuring sites
maintain compliance at all times.Responsible for ensuring contractors are compliant to company policy and the legislation of Health and safety.
Responsible for ensuring Company-wide Health and Safety data monitoring and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Health and Safety or related degree
3-5 years of experience in health and safety roles at busy sites
DOSH/NEBOSH certified
In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations, DOSH guidelines, and other relevant health and safety legislation
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Good analytical and strategic thinking skills and attention to details
Proficiency in using standard office software (e.g., MS Office Suite)
Working Relationship with teams:
- Collaborate with project managers and site managers
Finance and Procurement teams
Liaises with emergency service providers, security agencies, hospitals and fire departments.
Collaborate with business partners such as funders and project implementors.
